Employee of the Month

August 2008

This month’s award goes to Lee Stephenson one of our Service Engineers based out of Leamington, but operating from a home base in Yorkshire.

During the month Lee took a repair call at 16.10 on a Friday afternoon for a customer with no DHW or Heating. We hoped that Lee would attend on the Saturday morning (despite being outside his standard hours), in fact Lee got straight into his Van and went to resolve the issue immediately. Also, the call was out of Lee’s normal catchment area, in fact Lee is based in Dewsbury, South Yorkshire whilst the call was in Warrington, Cheshire. Anybody who has travelled across the M62 on a Friday afternoon knows what a tortuous journey that can be.

Fantastic commitment and a very impressed and satisfied customer.

Well done Lee.

Also nominated in the month were Paul Elliott and Rob Atkinson for the improvements they have both implemented in their new responsibilities. My thanks to you both.

Employee of the month

July 2008

I am delighted to announce that this month’s EOTM is Katie Lowrie.

After considering the submissions at this month’s Board Meeting, the Directors decided that her effort to ‘go the extra mile’ was done quite literally, in fact many hundreds of miles!

A customer now resident in Spain needed a spare part for their boiler and was desperate to have the part delivered.

Katie volunteered to fly to Spain, with the component to ensure the customer was not disappointed. She also had to stay overnight and return the following day, which meant giving up a significant part of her weekend.

This was a fantastic way of ‘Putting the Customer First’.

Well Done Katie, and Thank You on behalf of the Halstead Board.

We would also like to recognise the contribution of Helen Temperley for her work on the development of the Contract Support recording system, which was, in the words of Sales Director, Paul Strudley ‘absolutely outstanding’.

Thank You Helen, keep up the good work.

Employee of the month

June 2008

I am delighted to announce that the inaugural winner is SIMON JONES for his outstanding commitment to supporting the At Home with Halstead events. This involves pre-loading the vans and setting off early in the morning (often 5 or 6am) setting up the displays, much of which he made, saving the Company significant potential outlay, before dismantling and returning to Halstead often only to begin the same process later in the week.

Simon’s professionalism and commitment have served as an example to all of us and I am sure you will join me in recognizing his efforts and also his support team Dean, Phil and James.

Other nominations were for Michelle Pye and Tracy Davis both based at Leamington, well done to you both.

Please nominate any of your colleagues you think are putting in that effort that’s ‘above and beyond’ the call of duty for July’s nominations via your line manager. Once again well done Simon!
